Guide Dogs of America Fund Raiser

We are asking the membership of W261 for their favorite family recipe so that we can make a cookbook.

Many of you make delicious meals every day and the members of our local can make their food dollars stretch into hearty leftovers too. Share with us your secret to gourmet success. The recipes can be simple or complex. Your measurements be scientifically precise or a pinch of this and that.

Our local represents members at eight different employers. So we would like your name, job title and employer, and city. This information will be published with your recipe and any little words of wisdom you might want to include.

All proceeds other than the cost of printing will be sent to Guide Dogs of America.

You can give your recipe and info to...

Please make all submissions by Oct 30th so that we can compile the book and get it printed by Thanksgiving. If you would like to help, let us know.

Thank You,

President W261

Do you know what your union leaders have been working on?
Show up to a meeting and find out.

Measure 91 has been approved by Oregon voters. Oregon has joined Colorado and Washington State to allow recreational use of marijuana. But don’t light up just yet. The law does not take effect till July 1st, 2015. Even then if you are employed your employer does not have to recognize the State law. You will still be held accountable to the drug policy standards of your employer. Brandon Coats of Colorado has been in a lengthy court battle with his former employer, Dish Network, over his termination for failing a drug test. Coats has lost in two lower courts and is currently being considered by the Colorado Supreme Court. State supreme courts in California, Montana, and Washington State have all ruled against fired employees. So if you puff you will still have to pass your employers drug test.

What are your top safety concerns? Did you know that your union can help you achieve a safer work environment? Come to the next union meeting and lets talk about how to improve safety in your workplace.

Welcome to Lodge W-261.

Local Lodge W-261 has two offices to better serve our members. Our headquarters is located in scenic North Bend, Oregon and an office in Central Point, Oregon. W-261 represents both public and private employees. W-261 has contracts with two of the largest private owned Company's in Oregon. Our belief is everybody should have the opportunity to belong to our Union and the democratic policies of our Union. We are very Democratic, the membership is the ultimate Authority and Votes to Approve or disapprove virtually every action taken by the leaders.
